Vincent Nilsson

Vincent Nilsson was born in1951 in Malmbäck – in the eastern part of Sweden – later his family moved to the southern part of Sweden. He grew up there and already at that age was a fan of the Danish Radio Big band, in which he should later be a member of.

Vincent was trained as a classical trombonist at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, but soon started playing jazz. After graduating he played with various big bands in Germany such as WDR Big band in Cologne, NDR Big Band in Hamburg, Kurt Edelhagen and Peter Herbolzheimers Rhytm Combination & Brass. In 1974 he became a member of the Danish Radio Big Band – a post he has held ever since.

Vincent is a much sought arranger and composer and his CD recordings of gospel music are very highly acclaimed.
